A Perfect March Getaway to Grand Cayman
There are some places that instantly make you slow down the moment you arrive. For me, Grand Cayman was exactly that kind of place. Between the crystal-clear water, warm breezes, and unbelievably beautiful beaches, it’s one of those destinations that feels just as dreamy as the photos.
Staying Near Seven Mile Beach
We spent most of our time near Seven Mile Beach, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The sand is soft and powdery, and the water is that bright turquoise color you usually only see in postcards. Visiting in March turned out to be perfect. The weather was gorgeous every day—warm and sunny with just enough breeze to make sitting on the beach feel comfortable all afternoon.
Mornings were slow and relaxing. Coffee, ocean views, and long walks down the beach quickly became my favorite routine.
Our Private Boat Day
One of the highlights of the entire trip was booking a private boat tour to explore some of the most famous spots around the island.
Our first stop was Stingray City, which was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Standing in the shallow sandbar with dozens of friendly stingrays swimming around us was both exciting and surreal. They glide right up to you, and if you’re brave enough, you can even hold one. It’s definitely one of those bucket-list experiences you have to try at least once.
From there we headed over to Starfish Point, which is exactly what it sounds like. The shallow water is filled with beautiful red starfish resting along the sandy bottom. The water here is calm, peaceful, and incredibly clear—perfect for floating around and soaking in the scenery.
Lunch at Kaibo
After a morning on the water, we stopped for lunch at Kaibo Beach Restaurant. It’s one of those beachside spots where you can walk right off the sand and sit down for an amazing meal.
The atmosphere was relaxed and tropical, with tables overlooking the water. Fresh seafood, ocean views, and a cold drink after a morning in the sun and it honestly couldn’t have been a better way to end the boat day.
Other Things to Do in Grand Cayman
While the beaches alone are worth the trip, there are so many great things for visitors to experience around the island.
A few popular activities include:
Explore the underwater world
Snorkeling and diving are huge in Grand Cayman. One of the most famous dive sites is Kittiwake Shipwreck & Artificial Reef, a sunken ship that’s now home to coral and marine life.Visit the Cayman Turtle Centre
At Cayman Turtle Centre, visitors can learn about sea turtle conservation and even see turtles up close.Shop and explore George Town
The capital city, George Town, is great for walking around, shopping, and stopping for local food or waterfront views.Bioluminescent Bay tours
At night, tours head out to Bioluminescent Bay, where the water glows when you move through it because of tiny organisms that light up in the dark. It’s supposed to be a really magical experience.
Why I’d Go Back
Grand Cayman is one of those destinations that feels easy to fall in love with. The beaches are stunning, the water is unbelievably clear, and the island has just the right mix of relaxation and adventure.
Between mornings on Seven Mile Beach, swimming with stingrays, spotting starfish, and enjoying a long lunch at Kaibo, this trip was exactly the kind of escape I needed.
And honestly, after experiencing it once, I already know it won’t be my last visit.
